Your adventure is yours. This policy explains, in plain words, what Realm of Forgotten Souls knows about you, why, who else touches it, and how you stay in control.
Section 1Who we are
Realm of Forgotten Souls (the "Game") is run by Titan Application Development, LLC, a Florida limited liability company ("we", "us"). We are the controller of the personal information described here. This policy covers the Game's website realmofforgottensouls.com, the Game, our Android app, our internal business tools and our support. It explains our practices; it is not a contract. Our rules for playing are in the Terms of Service.
Section 2What we collect
the basics to run your account, what you do and say in the game, and technical details that keep it running and fair.
| Category | Examples | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Identifiers | Email address, character name, account and character numbers, IP address, and a phone number if you choose to add one in your account settings. | You; your device |
| Account login | Your password, which we store only as a one-way cryptographic hash (we cannot read it). This is "sensitive" information under some laws; we use it only to let you sign in. | You |
| Your communications | World, town, clan, allied and party chat, private messages (whispers), Post Office mail, and feedback or bug reports you send. | You |
| Purchases | Donations and Game Shop purchases: amount, currency, item, status, an optional note, and whether a donation is private. In our Stripe account we can also see the payer name, email and billing country or postal code you enter at checkout, and the card brand and last four digits. | You; Stripe |
| Gameplay | Characters, presentation (male, female or unspecified), levels, items, gold, achievements, kills, time played, current area, and when you were last online. | The Game |
| Internet and device activity | Session records (IP address and browser user-agent), server access logs, recent error messages, and performance diagnostics: device and browser type, language, screen and window size, processor and memory figures, time zone, network type and speed, and frame timings. | Your device, automatically |
| Lag reports | If you send a "Lag Issues" report with the diagnostics box ticked, we add your IP address and automatically run a network route test (traceroute and ping) to it to find where the delay happens. | You; your device; our test |
The Game does not ask for your real name, address or birth date, and does not collect GPS location, contacts, camera or microphone recordings. When you pay, Stripe collects the name and billing details you enter, which we can see as described above. If you use voice typing, your browser's own speech service (for example Google or Apple) turns your speech into text under its own privacy policy; we receive only the text. Diagnostics are designed never to include what you type.
Section 3Cookies and your device
- Our cookie:
rofs_sessionkeeps you signed in until 30 days after you last play. It is strictly necessary. We use no analytics or advertising cookies. - Payment cookies: when you open Donate or the Game Shop, Stripe's payment form loads and may set its own cookies and collect device data to prevent fraud.
- Remembered sign-ins: when you sign in or create an account, the Game remembers your email, character name and when you last signed in on that device (up to two accounts, never a password) so you can pick it instead of retyping your email. Remove them with the × button on the sign-in screen (or "Forget all" when two are saved).
- Settings: your display, sound and control choices are saved on your device and, for many of them, with your account so they follow you.
- File cache: the Game stores its own art, music and code on your device so it loads faster.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control: our website, including the Game when you play it in a browser, does not sell or share your information or run ad trackers, so these browser signals have nothing to switch off there. For ads in our app, see section 8.
Section 4How we use it
- To run the Game and your account: characters, chat, mail, clans, parties, purchases and support.
- To keep it safe and fair: preventing cheating, fraud, abuse and attacks, and enforcing the Terms of Service.
- To fix and improve it: finding bugs, lag and display problems.
- To meet legal duties: accounting, tax and lawful requests.
For players in the European Economic Area and the UK, our legal bases are: performing our contract with you (running your account and the Game); our legitimate interests in security, fairness and improving the Game; your consent where we ask for it (for example lag-report diagnostics); and legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not use it to profile you for advertising. For ads in our Android app, see section 8.
Section 5What other players see
Other players can see your character name, race, level, experience and leading path, appearance, equipped gear and its stats, clan, titles (such as Slayer), online status, the town or area you are in while online, gold carried (and, on the gold leaderboard, your total gold including your bank), monster and player kill counts, your leaderboard positions (on the path boards, your level in each path) and, to your party members, your health. Messages in world, town, clan, allied or party chat are seen by players in that channel. Donation totals appear on leaderboards and the online players list unless you chose to keep the donation private. Please never share personal details in chat.
Section 6Moderation and safety
private messages are private from other players, not from the people who keep the realm safe.
Our staff can review chat, private messages (including ones you deleted from view), Post Office mail, feedback and account records to investigate reports, protect players, enforce the Terms and meet legal duties. To diagnose lag or display problems, staff may also switch on a short-lived (24-hour) performance recording for an account. It runs in the background without an on-screen notice. It records technical measurements (such as frame and server-message timings, connection state, device and browser details, the game version and how the page was opened) together with gameplay context: the area you were in and when, how many monsters and players were on screen, your game settings, which panel was open or whether you were typing (never the text), and counts and direction of steps and taps. It is designed to record none of what you type or say.
Section 8Ads in our Android app
Our Android app shows ads served by Google AdMob. Google may collect your device's advertising ID and other device data and may personalize ads; under some US state laws this counts as "sharing" for targeted advertising. Our website shows no ads. To opt out:
- on Android, open Settings → Google → Ads and delete your advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads; and/or
- email us (section 16) with "Do not share" in the subject. We will record your request and apply it to everything we control; because Google manages ad settings through your device, the device setting above is the surest way.
Learn more in how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
Section 9How long we keep it
| Information | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Account and gameplay data | As long as your account exists |
| World, town, clan, allied and party chat | About 30 days |
| Private messages, Post Office mail, feedback and lag reports (including IP and route test) | Until your account is deleted or you ask us to delete them |
| Expired sign-in sessions | Deleted nightly |
| Performance recordings | About 7 days |
| Server logs | Generally 14 days; some system logs up to 12 months |
| Backups | Nightly database copies on our server for 14 days; encrypted backup snapshots (which hold those database copies and logs, so deleted information can remain in them) up to about 6 months |
| Donation and purchase records | As long as accounting, tax and legal rules require |
Section 10Your rights
you can ask what we have, have it fixed, take a copy, or have it deleted.
- Everyone may ask us to access, correct, copy or delete their personal information. To delete your account, the quickest way is in the Game: Feedback → Delete My Account. For anything else, or if you can't sign in, email support@realmofforgottensouls.com from the email address on your account. If you no longer have that email, tell us your character name and details only the account holder would know so we can verify you. A parent, or someone you authorize in writing, may make a request for you.
- US state rights: residents of states such as California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut and others may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, port, and opt out of sale, sharing or targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information for money. Ads in our Android app may count as a "sale" or "sharing" under some state laws; see section 8 to opt out. We will not treat you differently for using your rights. If we decline a request, you may appeal by replying to our answer; we will respond to the appeal as the law requires.
- EEA and UK players also have the right to object, to restrict processing, to withdraw consent at any time, and to complain to your local data protection authority.
We answer within the time the law requires (usually 30 to 45 days). Deleted information may remain in backups until they roll over, and we keep what the law requires us to keep (such as payment records).
Section 11Children
The Game is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If we learn that a player is under 13, we will close the account and delete its information, including chat and mail (copies in backups are removed as the backups roll over and are not used). Parents who believe their child under 13 has an account can contact us to have it removed. Players under 18 (or the age of majority where they live) need a parent's or guardian's permission to play and to make purchases.
Section 12Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, restricted server access and encrypted backup snapshots. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a unique password for the Game. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.
Section 13Players outside the United States
We and our servers are in the United States. When you play from elsewhere, your information is transferred to and processed in the United States, which may not have the same data protection laws as your country. We do this to provide the Game you asked to use.
Section 14Google API Services
Our internal advertising and website tool, used only by Titan Application Development staff, signs in with Google to our own Google Ads, AdMob and Search Console accounts. It never accesses Google data belonging to players or anyone else.
- Data accessed: Google Ads account, campaign, ad group, ad, keyword, asset, budget and performance data (scope
adwords); AdMob account, app, ad unit and earnings report data (admob.readonly,admob.report); for our own websites, Search Console properties, search performance, sitemap and page indexing data (webmasters) and their ownership verification records (siteverification). - Use: only to view, create and change our own advertising and to report on it, and to verify, monitor and maintain how our own websites appear in Google Search.
- Storage: the sign-in token is stored encrypted on our company computer. The tool saves no report data; results are kept in the AI assistant's session records on that computer for about 30 days and, for a limited period under its data-retention terms, by Anthropic; never in a database.
- Sharing: the data is processed by Anthropic's Claude, the AI assistant that operates the tool, only to carry out our requests. It is not sold, used for advertising, or shared with anyone else, and we do not use it to develop, improve or train generalized AI or machine-learning models.
- Revoking: access can be removed at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Section 15Changes to this policy
When we update this policy we change the "Effective" date. For significant changes we will give notice in the Game or on our website at least 30 days before they take effect, and we will ask for your consent before using information we already hold in a materially different way.
